I’ve been sitting at my computer for the last two hours scouring the internet for resources that would help you this week. Not just any resources though – resources that would specifically help you with managing and planning your blog, and as hard as I tried I just didn’t want to send you to any resources that weren’t really cool. So here are just a few of our favorite resources that we use to get ideas, traffic, and just over all improve our blog.
The first resource for this week is Blog Energizer by Lynette Chandler.
Justin subscribed to this resources a LONG time ago and for a while just put the emails that Lynette sent out into a folder in his mail program. however, a few months back he decided to take a look into some of her tips and REALLY delved into them. Each week she sends out an email of new things you can do to keep you’re blog hopping. You don’t have to purchase anything (just give her an email address) where she’ll send you some great tips to keep your blog moving). This link to Blog Energizer takes you to a killer free download (no email required) just so you can get a taste of the resources she provides.
Next up on the list for today is a free tool I found online to help you make a simple logo.
Here’s the link to it – Online Logo Maker. This is a really simple tool that will create you a very basic image, but it’ll be a logo none the less. Note: Once you create the logo how you like it – there isn’t an export button or anything. So, you’ll have to right click on the logo image and then save as. If you’re looking for a professionally designed logo, then I would suggest going to Scriptlance. You can get one create there for anywhere from $20-50 (sometimes more depending on what you’re looking for.
Another resource to help out with blog content is Ustream.tv.
For those of you that have been a subscriber for a while you probably know that Justin and I have a live broadcast every tuesday (except for summers) where we give out great free content to anyone that shows up. These Ustream.tv live shows are not only great for relationship building with your subscribers, but they are also great blog posts and content that you can syndicate on the web. If you’re passionate about your niche and have something to say – then you could easily start up your own live show that will boost your blog, boost your subscribers, and boost your seo (with links back to your site). Here’s a link to a blog post we wrote (a long while ago) on how to “Ustream Like A Rockstar.” Plus you can dive into our SiteFling video archives from all our past shows (that’s sure to help you along the way).
One resource that sort of works well with a Ustream show is called CastingWords.com
This is a transcription service that will take any audio or video and turn it into text. So you can easily turn your Ustream shows into a series that are transcribed and then published as content on your website or as a product of yours.
The finally resource that I’ll suggest to you today is BecomeABlogger.com
This website has a free video series (no optin required) that shows you how to build a blog – including the basic setup and installation process and on into how to write your posts etc. I’m sure if you optin it leads you to a paid product eventually and its up to you if you choose to buy. This is one course that we haven’t bought or reviewed so I can’t give you any feedback on it. However, the free training videos on this page will be useful for this weeks lesson.
That’s all for this week. Take the rest of the weekend to plan out your keywords and start writing and scheduling as many blog posts as possible. Next week we move on to a new topic.
Have a great weekend!

The blog energizer looks interesting. Sometimes its just hard to write about something. I probably need to think about outsourcing.
Hey girl, you rock, well done on a great post.
Never heard of online logo maker, eeeuuwwwww another great free tool to add to my toolbox.
Love and Light
Hey Maggie,
Thanks! Yeah – I like the logomaker for basic sites or when I’m just testing a niche and dont want to commit too many resources to it. it’s nice to just whip up a small logo without having to wait on a designer sometimes
Glad you liked the resources
