first let me say that this method IS NOT about infecting people with viruses to get traffic. It does however come from people having viruses on their computer… Let me explain…
The image above is a screenshot showing proof of the traffic method I’m about to tell you about. You’ll need a twitter account and to be an affiliate for a popular problem people in mass have. Like computer trouble, weight loss, anxiety, headaches, blah blah blah.
Here’s How This Works
You register as an affiliate for a virus removal software or really anything that people in mass have a problem with. Once you are registered and have your affiliate link you go to http://search.twitter.com
Then you simply start typing into the search box the things people who need your product would be saying. For example in the image above I searched “I have a virus” and found two people on just the first page who needed virus removal tips/software.
Then all you do is simply reply to their tweet with your own tweet. For example “Hey I had a virus last week and this is what I used to get rid of it – http://www.youraffiliatelink.com”
I highly recommend you buy your own domain name to hide your affiliate link inside of so it doesn’t look like an affiliate link. It’s called “forwarding a domain” and your host provider can help you do it in 5 minutes, just call them up.
Example: http://www.easyactionplans.com is actually a forwarded domain which hides this affiliate link http://affiliates.ppcbully.com/go?517 (It’s free PPC videos from PPC Bully, at least that’s what it is at the time of writing this blog post.
You can do this for lots of topics too, it doesn’t have to just be virus removal. It can be slow pc, virus removal, weight loss, female issues, headaches, anxiety, real estate, etc. etc.
You can even set this on auto-pilot using http://www.twitterhawk.com which is a site by Guy Kawasaki and is really meant for businesses to use for getting new clients, but works for affiliates also.
Well I hope you’ve liked this tip and if you combine it with the sitepoint software tip then you should have NO EXCUSE as to why you’re not making affiliate sales. You’d literally have to be going out of your way to fail at this point. All it takes is action and action builds confidence!

I was just talking with someone about doing this last week when they asked how to get traffic out of Twitter! It is a great strategy that I actually was going to try to start outsourcing.
I have never heard of TwitterHawk, but it looks like it might be even better than outsourcing. The way I was going about it was I have been using TweetBeep to inform me when people tweet about certain keywords, and I go and respond to them manually.
However, I think I am going to start using TwitterHawk. After all, 5 cents per tweet is pretty decent. It’s like the Twitter version of pay per view, and it is incredibly targeted too!
That is a sweet resource, and a great topic. However, nobody use this because the less people that do this the more effective it is for me…I mean it doesn’t work. Just like banner advertising…just ask the gurus!

Just told a buddy of mine who is a speaker on the topic of Social Media a plan to help him monetize all his speaking gigs without having to sell.
While I’m telling him this over Skype, he sends me a Twitter tweet about waiting 3 months before I show the method to others… I’ll give him a couple weeks head start, but I’m here to deliver the goods, the real goods, and nothing but the goods!
Lol. You do give away great stuff. It seems like every time I learn something new you go and post it here a few days or a week later. It is awesome information and truly, people should start listening to what you are saying and start implementing these strategies. I have tested most of them, and they do work.

How would you approach marketing an mlm opportunity form a keyword research standpoint? Would you approach trying to get ranked in google for the name of hte company, or ‘advertise mlm’s name’? I’m just looking for ideas to generate leads for an mlm company…Thanks!

Let’s PRETEND that your MLM opporunity is “Monavie” well then you’ll want to start doing keyword research for things like Acai, antioxidants, superfruits, etc. etc.
Then you create a free or paid (I prefer paid) report and start marketing that report on those topics with SEO, PPC, CPV, Banners, Forums, Email marketing, Affiliate program, and anything else you can think of.
As people start buying that report you are now getting highly qualified leads for your “Monavie” business. My shopping cart automatically asks for your name, email, phone, and address so make sure yours does too.
Because now you can start calling them or using offline marketing techniques to sell those people on your “Monavie” opportunity. IF you don’t like selling over the phone then hire someone who does off of craigslist and pay him a commission every time he closes an account for you.

I have been doing this every once in a while for people that are looking for a new Twitter background. Since I make them, I search people who are either complaining about theirs or mention that they are looking for one.
