No Such Thing As Duplicate Content Penalty

A day late but not a dollar short! I just finished a short video where I obliterate the headaches of newbie marketers around the world.

Everyone is confused about the duplicate content rule as it pertains to search engin optimization with Google. Most people even refer to it as a penalty. I don’t know where the word penalty came from with the duplicate content rule, but it is a policy more then a penalty.

Nothing bad can happen to someone, there is no secret scoreboard where people are losing points.

Watch this short video and get the whole story now…

Great video Justin – I heard you just now on Lynn Terry’s webinar and bought your SEOlies book – amazing value BTW.

Great to see you in action and really nice to hear you mentioning Jill Whalen in support of your views.

Keep up the great work – and I’m going to do my level best to dominate a whole bunch of keywords too – as soon as I’ve read the book!

Hi Justin,

Great video about the duplicate content myth that you keep hearin over and over and over … Thanks for taking the time to explain more about it, provide examples of you own and a few methods for what you do – good to hear it. I will be back to read and watch more – great content.

Thanks Justin…I’ve been beating myself up spinning articles. I’m going to stop doing that and see how it goes.

Thanks for all that useful information about duplicate content, really appreciated!

Ted Newman January 22, 2009 at 10:44 pm

Hi Justin,

I just purchased your SEOLies PDF after a recommendation from a friend and colleague and I can wholeheartedly agree with their recommendation ( Not Duplicate Content!) that it one of the best informative reads about the subject and as your video points out you can obtain more than one listing on the search engines for the same content.

Your 5 SEO Lies are an eye opener for the vast majority of people who will have been educated by others not to duplicate their content in any way.

You also break down how SEO works into very easy to understand pieces that anyone who is interested in the subject will be able to comprehend without the need for a ‘Masters Degree’ as some of the so called experts out there will have us believe.

Great info from someone who is ‘doing what they are teaching’ a refreshing change from what is usually being ‘carted’ around the SEO scene.

Thanks a lot :-)

I can’t believe how I have been duped for the past year in countless techie forums where the overwhelming “expert opinion” about duplicate content is so wrong, wrong. wrong. Many thanks for clearing all of this up.

Hey Justin,

I have really enjoyed everything I have received from you the last couple of days and I am sure you have another customer on your list. Glad you found me out here in Internet land and captured my attention.

Wow I have wasted so much effort worrying about duplicate content. What a waste of time. I am going back to some of my best sites and resubmit some of my best content to more sites. Thanks for the book and video.

This is an awesome video. Worrying about duplicate content was a hold back for me. Now I can see that I can easily create an article and post to a few hundred directories.

Justin you really give me the feeling that you are practicing exactly what you are teaching here – that comes across very clearly.
With other marketers I have read, I would always be left with the thought ‘ what else does he really do – this is not all there is to this subject’.

Please explain what exactly nofollow is and how a webmaster specifies nofollow on his webpage. Thanks!

Great video, Justin.

Thanks for clarifying this issue for us – it’s quite worrying for newbies.

Hey Justin, I love your stuff. Thanks for debunking the duplicate content myth. Thanks for helping me to understand as well. It sounds like you use in-house staff to submit your articles to these directorys. Is that correct. When are you moving to Tampa? Thanks again, Zack

Tampa SEO’s last blog post..Page Rank 5 Today.com allows posts with dofollow links.

I’m reading through your popcorn course and came across this video. Good stuff Justin. This explains why an article I wrote on being a landlord, that got posted all over years ago, is still driving traffic to my landlord website… I had a feeling about the duplicate content misinformation but never really proved it…
