List Of Website Marketplaces

Hey you're kinda new here aren't you... You should subscribe to our RSS feed, so you never miss our posts. It's also my mission to get to know all my new readers. Connect with me on Twitter so we can chat. Thanks for visiting!

As my story goes, I sucked at making money online until I found a website marketplace. Which is when I started selling my “failures” to others who knew what to do with them.

Eventually it started getting called Website Flipping and our seniority on the topic has made us the foremost experts on the subject.

Our most often asked question  is where do you sell your websites, so we thought it would make a good blog post. Plus now we can have just one link to send people to when they ask.

If you want to buy an Internet business, then any of these marketplaces would be great research points…

Top Three Website Marketplaces (Must Use)

Flippa.com

Used to be the Sitepoint Marketplace but is now Flippa.com – This is currently the #1 most active marketplace. Although, lots of controversy over switching names and drastic price increases have lead to a slow and steady decline in activity and listing quality. To their credit they are still seeing hundreds of thousands of dollars changing hands each week. I’ve sold websites for as much as $40,000 in this marketplace.

WebsitePush.com (GONE!)

The new cowboy in town has ridden into the sunset!

WarriorForum.com (WSO Area)

This is the highest traffic place to sell your site and I recently sold one for $7,500 in this marketplace. This one has worked very well for me in the past and just about any website valued at $200 or higher will work. This one will cost you $20 for the listing and you will need to meet some basic forum posting requirements before being able to list.

These Should Be Mentioned Too…

WebsiteBroker.com

This site get’s some decent activity but their listings are expensive compared to how much more activity the top 3 marketplaces are getting. They have some great resources for website flippers and website buyers as well. If you’re selling a site for more than $1,000 and not listing it here you are making a mistake. This marketplace owns the #1 rankings in Google for almost every website for sale keyword you can think of which means buyers passing through from search traffic.

Webmaster-Talk.com

Ton’s of traffic plus it’s FREE! However, your listings are mostly auction style here and there is no real “BIN” (Buy It Now) button like in other marketplaces. Yes it get’s lots of traffic but it’s website sales area is lacking and action is low – Good thing it’s still free! Did we mention this one is free?

WebsiteAuctionHub.com

I have used this one successfully in the past, but it’s no where near the top three in successful sales. It’s much better for either really low priced sites or websites that are already earning a monthly income of $1,000 or more. Mid-level sites for a couple hundred dollars with no revenue rarely sell here.

BuySellWebsite.com

This one is not good for selling websites that are not already making money. However, most of the sellers in here are way overpricing their websites so if you have a site already making money and charge 7x to 10x monthly revenue you should be able to outsell the competing listings.

Throw These In IF You Have Time

  • Great post Justin. I’ve seen that question floating around a lot about where to sell sites
  • The majority of our customers do exactly that… Flip websites that have no traffic or revenue.
  • Hey Justin,

I have been a fail when I started my first website b reading out some motivational and simple online money making articles.

And as a result I ended up selling my website through Flippa. Flippa is surely a wonderful place to auction your website. However I have heard about the rest of the websites, but I never had this much information about them.

    Thanks for sharing these information.

  • Great post Justin. I've seen that question floating around a lot about where to sell sites. If people would just go to one or two of these sites and check out what has sold already, they'd become a true believer in website flipping. It's amazing what is sold. And you can see what kind of traffic & sales a site has if any. If people have questions on why other sites have not sold, you are the guy to teach them. Keep up the good work!

    Hi Grace,
The majority of our customers do exactly that... Flip websites that have no traffic or revenue. We do have several students that have progressed up to selling big sites with traffic and revenue as well.
  • Hi Justine,
Wow this is good. I have wanted to know places where the buying and selling websites take place. I have one question. Is it possible to sell a website that is not making any money? have you ever done that and how much was it.
I believe this is one form of business that can get you cash when you are really tight.
    Thank you for the information.
