Almost 3 months ago I wrote “How The Porn Guys Do Things” and since then it’s been read by over 2,100 people. It’s one of our top 3 most read blog posts. So I thought I’d keep it going as a running series.
In this episode of the series we’re going to learn about “ABC Linking” and “Link Lists.”
What Are ABC Links?
If you’re an SEO expert you might be thinking about three way links or reciprocal linking. Although that’s not exactly what I’m talking about here. However, that strategy did in fact come out of the adult industry. Face it just about anything that works really well has been handed to us by the adult industry innovators.
So let’s pretend that you are a rookie affiliate for some adult website. You’ve got this affiliate site that was given to you by the affiliate program you signed up with, but how do you get traffic to it? I mean Google Adwords won’t let you advertise and just about every other mainstream advertising source frowns upon your type of websites.
What you would do is approach someone who is already having a little bit of success and ask them if they’d be interested in doing some ABC linking with you. Obviously if you approached someone way beyond your level it won’t be a good fit.
If you stick to someone who maybe is just a couple months ahead of you though you might get lucky if you ask enough people. When they say YES then you’ll link your website to two of their websites and they’ll link one of theirs to you.
So they own websites A & B and you own website C… You link website C to A & B. They link website A to your website C. Repeat this process with a couple more webmasters and you’ve got some decent traffic coming in.
Obviously you can’t do this with too many people so you start another website doing the same. Now you are the A & B guy and website C guys are asking you for links. So you get them to link their one site to 2 of your sites and you just link one of yours to one of theirs.
Can you see how this starts to really build up! Once you reach the point of having 5 – 10 websites you’ve got a broad network of linking partners and traffic flowing everywhere.
Where Do You Find People To Link With?
Once you’ve got quite a few websites (some affiliates have hundreds) you would end up starting a new website with a giant list of websites people can link up to you with. These websites are called “link lists” and there are some famous ones in the underground circles of adult website affiliates.
I’m not going to link to them for SEO reasons but if you Google it you should be able to find some.
You can even automate the process by using either custom made scripts or buying a link list or ABC linking script. That way you’re getting new links and new traffic all day long without having to be hands on.
How Can I Do This?
Let’s pretend you are an affiliate for related websites. You’ve got this website that talks all about the Acai berry and product reviews for the best Acai offers. You then search Google for other health related sites, probably not direct competitors though. Let’s say you find a guy with a couple different websites for example one about Hoodia and one about pre-wedding weight loss.
You approach this guy and say “If you will link your Hoodia website to my Acai website I’ll link to both of your websites from my website.” You may not get a yes from the first guy but if you asked 100 webmasters chances are you can get one to say yes.
Now you’ve got some traffic coming in and the more you have the easier it gets to barter for more ABC links. Once you’ve got 5 – 10 of these websites you can now start up your own automated link list site. Pretty soon you are dominating the health industry because you’ve got links and partnerships with all the big players in your market.
Oh yeah and all of this was done with simple banner ads… LoL the guys that say banners are dead just tickle me pink!
Just like everything else I teach here none of it works just by looking at the words on the page. All it takes is action and action builds confidence!
