It's been a while since the last post...a couple of years! Love Wordpress, Camptasia, and have had a lot of experience with gotowebinar.

Jing is a great new tool, as it screen captures like Camptasia but the video's are easily shared. Videos are limited to 5 minutes.

I have never heard of joomla, so many people are talking so much about wordpress that it is hard to go elsewhere but if someone can say a great thing about joomla I will go there. Does it help if you want to build multiple sites?

I'm not sure if that WP plugin would work... Email marketing comes with a lot of laws thanks to the ICANN spam act so I'd be quite worried about managing it on my own without a company who knows what they are doing to manage my campaigns.

Much smarter to just spend the $30 per month it takes to get started... You plan on making more then $30 a month right? So go for it! ;-)

Can a wordpess auto responder plugin (i.e. WP Autoresponder) replace iContact? If so, how do you upload all the contacts into the WP plugin?

Hey Justin,
I'm playing catch with your blog. One of the things I like about you and Chaunna is the fact that you are not just telling us about the success that you are having and then trying to sell a lot of programs, but you are showing us what you are using to get the results you are getting. I see that I am on the right track as I have 3 of the 5 must have tools mentioned in this article.

Question for you; why would you have both Joomla and Word Press. What can Joomla do that WP can't do? I am just curious as to why you would recommend both.

Yeah Justin I know that building a list is as important as Oxigen for anyone who markets online and although I am not using Aweber I started using iContact when I finally understood how important it is to build my own list.

Hi Justin I take on board your five favorite tools "per se" . I use get response yeah didn't take long to work it out. Don't know Joomla have seen it in go daddy where I have hosted websites will give more attention now. DimDim sounds great for the future me and Camstasia is the right way. I downloaded another similar piece of software recently only have to find it. I could go on and on about tools I cannot comment on because I have many and not used them. So until I do I will leave it at that.

Thanks.

Wordpress is almost there, but not quite able to replace Joomla. There are still certain extensions that make Joomla more versatile then wordpress. However, if we were talking about each without any plugins then sure wordpress is the better CMS.

I don't know much about constant contact but I do know that Aweber has some of the highest deliverability rates in the industry. I think only iContact is beating them right now in deliverability.

And yes in Aweber you can completely customize your emails. They have 20 -30 templates you can start with or you can upload any of your own.

Dude Aweber is a MUST! Don't be like me and wait 2-3 years before you start building a list. Having a large subscriber list makes everything easy, it's like WD40 for making money!

Thanks for dropping by with the comment and a recommendation for another tool. In the future please try to limit the amount of promotion in your comments. I almost deleted it for too much promotion but instead just edited out the last couple paragraphs.

Sharing is cool, pitching is not! ;-) No worries

Yeah, I'm really surprised at how many people don't even give Joomla a shot because it's a little more in deth to learn how to use it. If they knew like me and you just how much is possible with it, I think they would change their minds!

Hi Justin,

Camtasia is my pick as well for making screencast videos. It's what we used to make our video demos and it's been great and easy to use. I also just got into using ScreenFlow because I was on the hunt for a similar tool as Camtasia but to run on and record the screen of a Mac. Like I said, just got into so I don't have that much feedback thus far. Perhaps others have been using this for a while and have some feedback of their own....
I wanted to contact you about a web app that may interest you or others who are after a way of making free Web presentations. Our tool is called Mikogo, and it would be great if you would consider dropping by our website and checking it out.

If you'd like to know more or you wish to share your thoughts on Mikogo, feel free to contact me.

Cheers!

Camtasia is my pick as well for making screencast videos. It’s what we used to make our video demos and it’s been great and easy to use. I also just got into using ScreenFlow because I was on the hunt for a similar tool as Camtasia but to run on and record the screen of a Mac.
Hey Justin,

Once again I coudn't agree more with what you posted here I have used most of this applications in some of my work related stuff and although I have not had the opportunity to use Joomla yet, last week I was considering using it to create a website that I am working on and I was hesitant because of the learning curve but since it is so powerful and you so highly recommend it I am sure that it is worth using it.

I don't use Aweber but I do understand the need to use an email list manager as a way to stay in touch with your client's base and for now the one that I use is working out very well for me.

As far as DimDim this is the first time I hear about it (I guees is just because I have not had the need to conduct a webinar yet) but when the time comes I will certainly try it.

Thanks for keep on spitting out such wonderful and helpful content.

Great to have this all in one simple list.
I use Wordpress and Aweber all the time but haven't tried Joomla and DimDim
Love the idea of having a Joomla site built for $100 - do I just go on Sciptlane for this ?

Thanks again Justin

Just wondering why do we still need Joomla? Can't Wordpress do it all? Or are there some clear benefits to Joomla?

Also how does Aweber in your opinion compare to constant contact or to a tool that lets you completely customize your emails like campaignmonitor.com?
